Focusplan had the privilege of leading the design and build of Auckland Radiation Oncology’s North Shore facility. Seeking a seamless experience and acute attention to detail, ARO entrusted Focusplan with the end-to-end planning, design, and construction of both the bunkers and the refurbishment of the existing site—from concept to completion.
The clinic includes a spacious patient reception and waiting area, five consulting rooms, a procedure room, clean and dirty rooms, changing bays, staff/admin areas, and more.
It was great to collaborate with Chantel Fisher of Maken Design on the interior design of this project, elevating the experience for both staff and patients. The use of natural imagery and feature lighting creates a welcoming space for patients as they enter the bunkers, helping them feel more relaxed during treatment. A key design feature throughout the clinic is the use of beautiful timber slat walls and panelling, with soft curves and accent lighting to create a calm and soothing aesthetic.
Focusplan worked closely with the medical equipment suppliers from initial design and planning through to installation and commissioning, ensuring the facility is fully functional and compliant.
