The Fono offer a full range of affordable, holistic and high-quality medical services for families throughout Auckland, deeply rooted in Pacific foundations and culture. The Fono engaged Focusplan to refurbish their Henderson branch, managing both the design and project delivery. It was important the new design reflected their Pasifika heritage and provided a welcoming atmosphere to patients.
Within the clinic, playful designs and bold blue shades were chosen to pay reference to the Pasifika heritage of The Fono, and the community that it serves. Curved walls and glass partitions open up the space, soothing patients during their stay.
Finishes were carefully selected to provide durability and functionality for a high-use medical facility. Attention was given to the unique requirements, and the day-to-day practices of The Fono staff – such as the installation of a custom window between the Clean and Dirty room for easy access.
